Welcome to the City of Ankeny's online registration for Pet Licenses and Dog Park Passes. We have partnered with Barkpass to offer online pet licensing for Ankeny residents, as well as dog park passes for residents and nonresidents. For questions or issues that arise, please contact Ankeny Parks & Recreation at 515-963-3570.
Pet Licensing Information Ankeny residents are allowed up to four dogs, four cats or a combination not exceeding four animals per household on a residential lot. The license fee is $15 per altered pet and $25 per unaltered pet (plus $2 for shipping). A current certificate of rabies vaccination is required at the time of application.
Licensing your pet improves the chances of having your animal returned to you should they become lost or run away. It also helps the City of Ankeny ensure that pets are vaccinated.
Failure to license your pets could result in a $50 fine for the first offense and $100 for subsequent offenses. The City also requires a $45 impound fee and $25 service fee if a pet is picked up by Animal Control.
Dog Park Pass Information The Ankeny Dog Park is a beautiful 7.5 acre park that allows dogs of all sizes to run freely in an entirely fenced in area. The Dog Park features a half acre pond, separate small and large dog areas, open green space for dogs to run and agility equipment. A Dog Park Pass is required to visit this park.
Ankeny Dog Park passes are $25 for residents and $35 for nonresidents (plus $2 for shipping). Park passes are good for a calendar year, Jan 1 - Dec 31. If you purchase your pass online, the gate access code will be sent to you with your confirmation email once your application is approved. Please allow up to 3 business days, 72 hours, for approval.
